Radiography

Radiographs

Our hospital is fully equipped to take radiographs (often called x-rays) of your pet.  Our veterinarians will discuss your pet’s case and conduct a thorough physical examination to determine if your pet requires radiographs.

We usually will admit your pet to hospital for several hours, during which we will take the x-rays, examine them, and often our veterinarians will discuss them with each other as well. Sometimes we require further information, and in these cases we can send the images to a specialist to interpret.

Quite often, we will request to sedate or anaesthetise your pet for x-rays to be taken. A lot of the images we take require your pet to lay very still in sometimes uncomfortable positions, which is an almost impossible task for a conscious dog or cat.
